What Is Internal Brace Technology?

Internal Bracing is an orthopedic surgery technique that Dr. Steven Lee pioneered for Hand Surgery applications. This exciting surgical advancement is changing and improving many surgeries in the world of orthopedics! Dr. Lee's goal is to make his surgical repairs stronger and afford patients a faster recovery whenever possible.


With the addition of his Internal Brace surgical technique, Dr. Steven Lee has been able to improve and enhance multiple surgeries. These innovate techniques are spreading across the country, and Dr. Lee is proud to not only pioneer these techniques but also teach them to fellow orthopedic surgeons nationwide.


Internal Bracing may be used in the following procedures:

​- Thumb Basal Joint Arthroplasty

- Thumb UCL Repair and Reconstruction

- Wrist TFCC and DRUJ Reconstruction

- Wrist Scaphoid-Lunate Ligament Repair and Reconstruction

- Elbow UCL and LUCL Reconstruction

- Ankle Instability, Brostrom
